TASTE OF THAI SELECT: Niagara's Finest Thai

When the Niagara's Finest brand wanted to expand their restaurant and hotel chain in Niagara-on-the-Lake, they decided it was time to take on a different sort of challenge. The theatre and tourist town caters to folks staying a few nights on holiday, but most of the restaurants offer more traditional western fare. It didn't take long for the folks at Niagara's Finest to identify Thai food as the taste of choice. Niagara's Finest Thai Cuisine is located at 88 Picton Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake opened in August of 2016.

A brand always known for doing things right, they went looking for a master chef to head the kitchen and found Chef T and hired him long before the actual place was ready and he worked out of one of their other kitchens perfecting the menu. Once the location was ready, he was joined by a full staff and it didn't take long before the Chef T and his staff were known all over town. Unlike most tourist places, Niagara's Finest Thai attracts both tourists and locals.

If you're planning a business meeting or a large party, not only does the dining room have cozy seating for both large and small groups, but there is also a private party room available for special occasions. Of if you feel like being more in the action, the open kitchen has a bar where you can sit and watch the skilled cooks at work.

Panang Curry with Tofu

We started with panang curry served with tofu. Niagara's Finest is very concerned with doing Thai food the right away, and the use of proper Thai eggplant is a great example. The veggies tasted very fresh and the tofu was perfectly fried. Served with rice this makes a perfect meal.

Green Curry with Chicken

A slightly spicy dish, the green curry with chicken blends traditional green curry with tender chicken. Served with Thai holy basil, this dish is perfect if you're looking for a very flavourful dish with a bit of a kick to it.

Signature Pad Thai

Niagara's Finest considers the Pad Thai their signature dish. The noodles had the right texture and were a bit chewy with just the right amount of a very nice sauce. Served with shrimp, the flavour combination was perfect and it was nice to see the spicy chili and peanuts served off to the side so you can choose your own taste. Both the presentation and the taste were excellent! This is definitely a must-have dish!

The interior is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are passionate about the food and the presentation. A definite destination spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
